Favorite Finds of the Week

I recently made a couple of really great purchases and wanted to share some other things I found with you as well! I am such a basic girl, and I get so excited when I find silhouettes that look great on anyone, regardless of size or height. So, below I have listed a few items that you definitely need to check out! Happy Shopping!

KORS Michael Kors "Barnett" Sandal....I want these shoes sooo bad! They are the perfect height, color, and style and will go with practically anything this summer. I better start saving! You can find them at MichaelKors.com.

Gap's Always Skinny High Rise Jeans....I tried these jeans on about 2 weeks ago and decided that I already had enough skinny leg jeans. However, I could NOT stop thinking about them and went out of my way to get a pair while I was working the Masters in Georgia. They have the right amount of stretch and are a great dark wash. Yay! I am so happy I have them....they are on sale at Gap for $30, so get them while you still can!

Old Navy Espadrilles....I purchased a pair of these for $30 and can't wait to wear them! I can never find espadrilles with any "give" to them, and these fit just right! They come in several colors, including seersucker (love!), brown, and coral. Too cute to pass up!

Nordstrom's 2-Tone Fedora Hat....I was asked to create a look for a job opening I interviewed for, and I found this adorable fedora at Nordstrom.com. So versatile and so hot right now! And it's only $32!! I have been on the hunt for this spring must-have and I think I may have found it!

MICHAEL Michael Kors CrossBody Bag....This bag is a very popular trend for spring! The crossbody style makes everything much easier (especially shopping!!) and the array of colors make it pairable with any look. I am digging Michael Kors today, apparently....Find it at Nordstrom.com for $178.

Color, Color Everywhere!!

I love seeing all of the bright colors sprouting up everywhere...it means it's springtime! I've been following "The Weekly Spade: A Blog About Color" lately over at KateSpade.com and I'm so excited about everything they are finding! The color of the month is green and you can check out the cutest new things Kate has to offer this spring in lovely shades of emerald, lime, & clover, just to name a few! They are also featuring seasonal prints that have been designed by commissioned artists. I am ob-sessed with one of them: Caitlin McGauley....She paints watercolor prints with pops of color and unmistakable charm. She has created work for J.Crew & Hermes as well as Kate Spade's illustrations for one of their Pop-Up Shops in London. Her adorable renditions of room settings and tablescapes make me jump for joy! I have posted a few of my personal favorites below. You can see more at CaitlinMcGauley.com as well as her featured article from last summer on Tory Burch's Blog!!

She makes it look so effortless!

75th Anniversary of the Masters

Hola! I hope everyone had a great week since I last wrote! I am finally back from an AMAZING experience at the Masters in Augusta, GA. It is just now hitting me how incredibly lucky I was to be able to work there and be a part of the 75th Anniversary of the tournament. By far the most beautiful golf course I have ever seen! The traditions are still going strong, including no running, no cellphones, sandwiches wrapped in green cellophane in case they are dropped on the ground (they blend in), and even a manually-operated scoreboard. You feel like you stepped into the 1950's, back in the days of Arnie Palmer & Jack Nicklaus. It was truly a unique feel and a week I will never forget!

One of the best parts of working was the people watching! I can't tell you the amount of designer digs and over-the-top bling I witnessed. The girls that I worked with and I would catch ourselves staring and whispering to each other about the huge rings and expensive clothes. We saw everything from Lilly to Gucci. All kinds of nationalities were represented, which made it ever cooler. And not just anyone can score a ticket to the Masters, so you can only imagine the kinds of people we saw! Andy Roddick, John Legend, Roger Federer, & retired NFL star, Eddie George, just to name a few.

On the golf course, I was most excited to see Phil Mickelson, Freddie Couples, Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson, Graeme McDowell, & Tiger. It made me laugh when I realized they are just golfers, yet I am so mesmerized by them!! Matt Kuchar even smiled at me at one point (no joke!)...too bad I had a mouthful of pretzels when I tried to smile back!! I had never seen any of these top golfers, and, let me tell you, it was pretty awesome to see them up close & personal.

I didn't get the chance to take any pictures on the days that cameras were allowed, but I have to say, pictures can't do it any justice. I loved every minute of it...well, most of it since we were working 14 hour days! I had a blast with my team that I worked with, and do not know how I landed such a cool gig, stationed in the Main Golf Shop. If you ever get the chance to head to the Masters in early Spring, go for it! I can't believe my first Masters is over, but I'm already excited about next year!

And Another Week Begins....

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend! I celebrated my birthday in Charlotte and it was a blast, filled with P.F. Chang's, Maxie B's pumpkin chocolate chip cupcakes, and love all around! I have the best friends and boyfriend a girl could ask for!

I didn't get a chance to shop much due to time, but my mother went down with some friends and got me some amazing scoop! Louis Vuitton is searching for a Shoe Manager at their location at Southpark Mall...she chatted up the store manager and scored a card for me! I sent in my resume today and I'm keeping my fingers tightly crossed that they will consider me for the position!! Who knows, this may be the perfect fashion job I've been searching for!

One stop I did get the chance to make was at the Tory Burch store with my friend and Tory employee, Kathleen. They have some super cute things in there! I love the way Tory decorates her store to make you feel like you are shopping in her very own closet. The exotic prints and colorful furniture make me want to shop for days. I'm considering some Reva flats...I'd never tried them on until my Saturday visit, and they are suprisingly comfortable! Too bad they are sold out of the color I want :(

Speaking of shoes, I thought I would mention a collaboration that is in stores this Spring since I have found myself writing about shoes at least once a week! John Derian, the designer made famous by his decopage designs on paperweights, trays, etc, has teamed up with shoe company Repetto to bring you some oh-so-sassy kicks. One pair in particular are ballet flats inspired by his home decor. They are available at Bergdorf Goodman for $295 and there is no doubt you will be receiving compliments left and right if you buy a pair!

Gorgeous!!

It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time!!

I have been watching Bobby Flay's new show on NBC called "America's Next Great Restaurant" and it makes my mouth water every time!! Contestants are pitching their creative restaurant ideas in hopes of winning the grand prize of opening three of their very own eateries in LA, Minneapolis, & NYC. One of my favorite ideas is called "MeltWorks"....a gourmet grilled cheese shop with endless grilled & gooey possibilities. What a wonderful idea!

It made me think of a restaurant that's already in New York based on a childhood favorite of mine--PB & Jelly sandwiches! It's called "Peanut Butter & Co." and they've created dozens of sandwiches, desserts, & drinks based around their eight homemade flavors of peanut butter! Such flavors include Cinnamon Raisin Swirl, Mighty Maple, & White Chocolate Wonderful. I have not had the chance to visit the shop, but how delicious does a "Fluffernutter" sound?! Yes, a peanut butter and Nutella sandwich...I want one now!! YUMMY! I asked for their cookbook several years ago and it is filled with milkshakes, muffins, and more that will satisfy any PB craving! Such a fun concept. You can purchase individual jars of PB at grocery stores like Harris Teeter, Whole Foods, & EarthFare. Check out Peanut Butter & Co.'s website @ ILovePeanutButter.com. to find recipes, shop online, or browse the menu!
